The fiber found in apples lower your LDL (low-density-lipids) and cholesterol. This means that that plaque sticking to your arteries and building up can actually be lessened by eating apples. Because the plaque is less likely to be building up cause a blockage, your less prone to heart disease. Apple also contain many antioxidants. Antioxidants reduce the effects of free radicals in your system. In a sense, they help to protect you from harmful things trying to enter your body such as pollen, cleaning products, alcohol, cigarette smoke etc. Researchers found that an antioxidant called phloridzin that is found only in apples may reduce the chance of osteoporosis and may also increase bone density.
Apples have also been proven to reduce the risks of man types of cancer and diseases. These include liver disease, breast cancer, lung cancer, colon cancer and its been proven to help the brain in alzheimer patients. Apple have also been proven to reduce the risk of asthma in children. A child who who drinks apple juice once a day significantly reduces wheezing effects. The benefits of apple calories are endless and everyone should really be eating one a day to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
